What Patients Say

This is perhaps the worst managed business I’ve ever encountered. My mother had 3 pinched nerves and 2 bulging discs and started being seen here in 2024. She was told by Dr. Orozco she needed to do pain management and injections before surgery could be scheduled. Since she lives 3 hours from the office, she was repeatedly told that she would be given a referral to a place closer to her, but they kept sending the wrong referrals over (or “forgot” to send them…) and she never got her appointments. This happened weekly over the course of 2 months, eventually causing her to give up. Given a lack of options without extended wait times, and with increasingly worsening pain, she went back. At this point, she was told by Dr Orozco, without any apology, that she mostly likely had another disc slipping, and he ordered a new MRI for her and told her she urgently needed surgery. Since she lived 3 hours away, they scheduled the follow up appointment for when she would be in town next and the ladies at the front desk ensured her they were sending her MRI stuff to an imaging place in Paris, Texas. Just like the year before; they sent it to the wrong place (or just outright forgot) and my mom called back multiple times, once a week for a month again, and was told each time they would correct their mistake and send it over to the correct place. Now they’ve failed again, she has no MRI appointment, and can’t make the follow up on March 11th because no MRI has been ordered. She is in tremendous pain and just setting up the appointments and driving the 3 hours has been incredibly difficult. Now she needs to start all over and find a new neurosurgeon which will take months. This is not a trustworthy office, and please think twice before entrusting your health to them.

I will say that only thing that really needs improvement is the dealing with workers compensation people. Nobody likes them because they are training to cause harm not good to those they represent. However, I was in desperate need of an MRI for an injury that has caused me pain for 6 years now. Workers comp just wanted to talk to Dr Orozco and he has a policy that he wont talk to anyone of the phone. His staff won't even take the requests to him.
Unfortunately his policy ultimately cost me to have permanent nerve damage and the inability to ever work my career again. Thankfully I didn't get fired and I was put behind a computer to work so I still get a paycheck, but I will be in constant pain every day the rest of my life.
It also cost me thousands of dollars when I finally got the MRI on my own and the surgery as well because Workers Comp refused to cover it. I could make an argument that in my case his policy could be considered a violation of the Hippocratic Oath, but at the end of the day the dude knows his stuff and he is damn good! ...as long as you dont need him to make a phone call.

The Dr and his PA are both great, patient, and knowledgeable. However, the same cannot be said for the office staff unfortunately. They tend to be short, standoffish, and borderline rude, especially the office manager. If you need a note stating what could have caused an injury for your employer...this ain't happening. Getting any other types of notes from them is equally difficult. I am pretty sure that they try really hard to stay out of legal proceedings (who wouldn't?) even if it causes further harm to the patients physically and mentally.
Great Dr if you have a straight forward thing, but if it gets complicated expect them to be extremely unhelpful.

He made me feel like I was his only patient. I look forward to my next visit.
